Following the Thursday, July 30th 5:30pm YPTW performance, community members are invited to celebrate the 25th Anniversary with an ice-cream social. The celebration will begin about 7:30 and includes a special ceremony to honor YPTW’s founders, Myrna Johnson and Patsy Dew. Community members are encouraged to attend the performance prior.
The Northfield Arts Guild is thrilled to celebrate 25 years of their Young People’s Theater Workshop, often referred to as YPTW. This long-standing summer theater camp offers an exceptional theater arts education with experiences in both playwrighting and performance. The three-week workshop, which occurs twice each summer, concludes with three public performances of original scripts written and acted by the students! Over 1200 individual students have participated since the program began. The program is currently directed by local favorite, Bob Gregory-Bjorklund. Tickets for the YPTW performances are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased by calling 507-645-8877, in person at the Northfield Arts Guild office, 304 Division Street S., or at the door. The Ice Cream Social on Thursday, July 30 at approximately 7:30 pm is free and open to the public.
