“I began a lifelong love of ceramics at 9 when I learned to throw from a Japanese potter visiting Carleton College where my mother worked as the college’s photographer. I made pots thoughout my years in high school and apprenticed to a potter at age 16 before I went on to study art at Macalester and the University of Minnesota where I earned a BFA.
Directly after college, a move to Chicago led me to Lill Street studios where I began working & teaching pottery as well as at several other institutions.
In 2012, I moved back to Northfield, Minnesota where I continued teaching and began to work full-time as a potter. Now, I incorporating teaching workshops online and in-person as well as having part-time apprentices as part of my practice.”
