Folklórico Advanced

to be continued in Fall ’25

In this multi-generational class, students will develop skills in footwork and ensemble as they learn dances from Guerrero, Sinaloa, and Jalisco.  Shoes and costumes will be provided on loan for all children, as well as practice skirts for girls.  Adults are expected to provide their own shoes and skirts as needed.

Folklórico Advanced:  In this 90-minute class, students will polish and expand their skills in footwork, ensemble, and choreography as they learn dances from Veracruz and other Mexican states.  Folklórico Advanced is taught by Ana Baez Fredrickson in Spanish and English and is open to experienced students ages 12 and up, or with permission of the instructor.  The students are expected to provide their own shoes and practice skirts as needed.  New students will be accepted in September, and then again in January. Saturday mornings, 10:00 am to 11:30 am.  10 sessions:  Sep. 20, 27;  Oct. 4, 11, 25; Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22; Dec. 6.  $10 each class, collected at class.

Folklórico Beginner and Intermediate

Students will develop body awareness, alignment, and posture while learning fun dances from Jalisco and Sinaloa as well as other famous dances from Mexico.  Shoes and costumes will be provided on loan for all children, as well as practice skirts for girls.

Folklórico Beginner and Intermediate: In this multi-generational, multi-level class, students will develop skills in footwork and ensemble as they learn dances from Veracruz and other dances in the standard repertory of Baile Folklórico.  Shoes and costumes will be provided on loan for all children, as well as practice skirts for girls.  Adults are expected to provide their own shoes and skirts as needed.  This class is taught by Ana Baez Fredrickson in Spanish and English.  Dancers of all experience levels are welcome, ages 5 and up.  New students will be accepted in September and October, and then again in January.  Saturday mornings, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.  10 sessions:  Sep. 20, 27;  Oct. 4, 11, 25; Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22; Dec. 6.  $7 each class, collected at class.

Led by Victoria Nolasco, Zumba improves cardiovascular health, tones and builds strong bones and muscles, and relieves stress. It’s also a great way to engage in positive social interaction with others!
