Wake/Rise, an evening of performance, presents three artists grappling with their physical limits, technologically extending their bodies with a variety of tools, musical and otherwise.
In 1(a Patrick Marschke explores improvisational structures tightly integrated with custom built interactive software, combining the raw and familiar sounds of acoustic drums with micro-samples, live signal processing, and synthesized sound. Josiah Simon’s Sampler is a juggling routine, literally. Andrea Mazzariello’s Wake/Rise works through an awakening in song, presented through a one-person-band performance on drums, keys, voice, and electronics.
Although this is a free event, the artists welcome donations in support of immigrants in our community.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
