“My art is not a lecture, I just want people to think.” – Galen Brown
Over his career as an artist, Brown’s work centered around that theme. His images delve into the shapes and shadows of what he observed. Whether it was the shapes related to war and peace, the shapes of justice and injustice, shapes behind other artist’s works, shapes in landscapes, and even the shapes related to his own cancer, he challenges the viewer to think. For many years, Galen Brown was involved with the Northfield Arts Guild, as an exhibitor, volunteer and Gallery Committee member. The Guild is proud to host this Minnesota premier.
“We are so pleased to bring this exhibit to the Northfield Arts Guild, at the close of the 50th Anniversary of the national commemoration of the Vietnam War. A Marine and Purple Heart recipient, Galen’s artistic journey started with his return from the war and spanned 40 years.” – Kay Adkins Brown
