Women: 6:30 pm (Plan to be potentially be called back to match with the men around 8:30.)
Men: 7:30 pm (We’ll start when the women are through.)
No need to register for auditions in advance.

Audition Requirements:
- Actors should prepare 36-bars of an uptempo contemporary/rock style ballad–doesn’t have to be musical theater. If this doesn’t demonstrate your ability to belt, the director is open to hearing anything that does.
- Bring sheet music for the accompanist.
Rehearsal information:
- Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled to begin May 29th, for sure by June 4th. Tech week begins July 20/21 and mandatory dress rehearsals begin July 23.

Summary of show:
Next to Normal, with Music by Tom Kitt and Book and Lyrics by Brian Yorkey, is a contemporary sing-through musical that explores how one suburban household copes with crisis. With provocative lyrics and an electrifying score, this 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner shows how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their family’s world intact.

DIANA
Delusional, bipolar, and depressed. The sexiness of her yesterdays has only recently begun to soften. She is determined to make her family perfect but is tortured by a death in the family.

GABE
Diana & Dan’s son. Dashing, athletic, and bright. He is a playful man and everything a mother could imagine.

DAN
Diana’s husband. He is handsome and genuine. Though a constant in Diana’s tumultuous life, he has grown tired and weary of her antics.

NATALIE
Diana & Dan’s troubled daughter. An accomplished pianist and hardworking student, her struggles are exacerbated by her mother’s behavior. She greatly admires Henry.

HENRY
Natalie’s classmate. The all-around musician, philosopher, and slacker. He has an intoxicating capacity for sympathy and romance.

Diana’s handsome psychiatrist. Quite assured in his practice and considered somewhat of a rock star.
