THE SINGER’S VOICE 2026/27
From 1994 to 2000, Sunday evenings at the legendary Dakota Jazz Club belonged to a live KBEM radio show called The Singer’s Voice. Created by and hosted by Dan Chouinard at the piano, it was a song-laced conversation with a different singer each week about their life and music.
The show was acclaimed by critics and embraced by the music community for its freshness and spontaneity, intimate format, and it’s power of story and song…

From MJA website: My band and I have had, and are still having, a great ride. We have opened shows for countless national acts. We got to record with a great producer/guitar player named Steve Gibson. We recorded in Nashville and did a showcase there and got signed to Warner Brothers (not for very long, but oh well!) We recorded at Paisley Park, Creation, Cookhouse and numerous other great studios in Minneapolis with Tom Tucker, Peter Johnson (who I love writing songs with more than anything!), Scott Malchow and some other big shot from Nashville (I honestly can’t remember his name and there’s a reason for that!) and most recently, with Grammy award winner, Steve Hodge, who produced, engineered, mixed and mastered my newest record, “Me and the Wild Blue”. The Mary Jane Alm Band is; Boyd Lee on acoustic guitar and vocals, Gordy Johnson on bass, Scooter Nelson on percussion and vocals and Brian Peters on guitar and pedal steel. They are the absolute best!!!!

OPENER: THEO RUSTAD
Theo Rustad is a 17-year-old junior at Northfield High School who has been singing ever since he can remember. Inspired by artists like mk.gee and Dijon, Theo makes alternative pop that blends personal songwriting with a unique, atmospheric sound. Outside of music, he spends a lot of his time playing competitive golf.
Theo will be accompanied by fellow NHS student, Ben Barsness on guitar.
Interesting note: Theo’s father, Dan, started the Guild’s 411 Concert Series with Ray Coudret in 2013!
