Fiddler on the Roof

November 17 – December 3, 2017

THIS PRODUCTION IS PAST.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

With Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book and Best Original Score, this musical continues to touch audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty. Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, the village’s dairyman, and his five daughters, three of marriageable age. With the help of his wife and their tight-Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing antisemitism of Czarist Russia.

Fiddler on the Roof is based on Sholem Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl with Book by Joseph Stein, Music by Jerry Bock, Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. Produced on the New York Stage by Harold Prince. Original New York Stage Production Directed and Choreographed by Jerome Robbins.

Susan Carlson first appeared on the Northfield Arts Guild Theater stage in 1994, directed her first season show (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever) in 2002, her first Shakespeare production (The Comedy of Errors) in 2005, and most recently Macbeth in the summer of 2015. Her recent NAG Theater participation has also included acting (The Cherry Orchard, The Miracle Worker), costuming (August: Osage County, A Streetcar Named Desire), stage managing (Oliver!), set dressing/props (Dial M for Murder), and stage design for The Tempest. Susan is thrilled to bring this variety of experience to directing her first musical theater production, doubly so as Fiddler on the Roof is one of her favorite musicals!
