A Cut Above: Linoleum Printing – Art Camp

Students will use Linoleum printing techniques to make a series of prints in both mono color and multistage multi color prints in various sizes. Students will create a series of prints and learn the basics in the history and use of reductive printing.

You Spin Me Right Round: Wheel Throwing – Clay Camp

Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel. Students will learn how to center the clay and use it to make mugs, bowls, and plates. Students should wear clothing that can get dirty and closed toed shoes.This class is offered through Community Education. Register for Clay Camp!

Artastic Acrylic – Art Camp

Let your imagination be your guide as you explore using various textures while painting on different materials. Learn to mix colors, creating your own unique shades, then use these colors on canvas to create a personalized name painting.Love rocks? We’ll be painting our own designs on them. Have a favorite rock? Bring it to class, or choose from those provided. Create your own design or use one of mine. We’ll also be stamping with different shapes. Making fireworks pictures that will explode off the paper. Glitter will be added for the final touch.

Magical Creature Houses – Clay Camp

Get your hands messy with clay camp this summer! Create your own set of Magic Creature houses (fairies, elves, etc.) using hand-building construction and adding details to decorate your homes. All materials are included. This class is offered through Community Education. Register for Clay Camp!

Windows of Opportunity: Glass Painting Camp

Ever wonder what it would like to paint on glass? This camp will give you the opportunity to explore this concept while painting on picture glass, drinking glasses and more! In addition to learning basic drawing skills, we will be painting a picture on glass to frame for display. You’ll also see what your ideas look like on a drinking glass, which you can use every day. The possibilities are endless!

Creating a Character – Theater Camp

What do Gandalf, Tracy Turnblad, and Darth Vader have in common? They’re all memorable and complex characters! Creating a believable character is an essential skill for any actor. In this class, we’ll by not only look at the words we’re speaking, but also the intent behind them.

Collages Keepsakes – Art Camp

Students will learn how to combine images and drawing to create both a keepsake box and the cover for a handmade sketchbook or journal. During this time we will also discuss Journaling and Sketching techniques.

USAT Academic Triathlon – Creative Camp

Minnesota’s homegrown creativity competition, US Academic Triathlon encourages positive risk-taking, creative thinking, team work, and leadership skills in students grades 5 through 8. Teams compete in problem-solving situations called Mind Sprints, get quizzed on their trivia skills through oral and written Face-Offs, and display their creativity through PARTY in a Box! skit presentations. Sculptural Words – Clay Camp

Students to will create a sculpted word using slabs of clay from research done throughout the week. We will start by looking at the value and meaning of works, the intentionality of fonts, and slab building techniques to create a decorative sculpture of a word or name of their choosing.
