Northfield Arts Guild announcing $13,000 matching gift

A letter from the Northfield Arts Guild’s Board of Directors

Dear Friends,

Since our founding in 1959, the Northfield Arts Guild’s purpose has been to bring our community together through a rich array of arts opportunities and experiences serving people of all ages and abilities.

The Guild and our community have long shared the belief that the arts are essential for a vibrant city. Over the decades, we have celebrated successes and overcome adversities together – but now we are confronted with an extraordinary set of challenges that is unlike anything we have ever faced before.

For the first time in our history, we have had to temporarily close our doors to assist with coronavirus containment. Being a gathering space is essential to who we are, but we have done what is necessary to help contain this virus. This has required the hard decision to cancel or postpone plays, concerts, receptions, many classes and daily gallery and gift shop hours.

Our financial survival is dependent on ticket sales and class tuition, with half of our annual budget coming from earned income. Like other area businesses, our dedicated staff and a broad network of area individuals and businesses rely on us for all or part of their livelihood.

We are asking our community to rally in support of the Guild. Please make a contribution today to ensure our future https://northfieldartsguild.org/support/donors-circle/

Our board of directors and friends of the Guild have established a $13,000 matching gift, so please know that your support at this pivotal time will be doubled.

These challenges have also inspired us to expand our electronic presence. Staff and instructors are actively rolling out online arts activities and engagement on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Your support will also make these engagement efforts possible.

For many members and supporters, their touchstone for culture and friendship is the Guild. We look forward to when we can gather together again at the Guild for a play, concert, class or exhibition. We are all in this together.

Thank you for your support.
