SUMMARY:Beginning & Intermediate/Advanced Baile Folklorico
DESCRIPTION:Beginning Folklorico- Students will develop body awareness\, alignment\, and posture while learning fun dances from Veracruz as well as other famous dances from Mexico.  Shoes and costumes will be provided on loan for all children\, as well as practice skirts for girls. This class is taught in Spanish and English. Ages 5 and up. \nLos estudiantes desarrollarán la conciencia corporal\, la alineación y la postura mientras aprenden bailes divertidos de Veracruz\, así como otros bailes famosos de México. Se proporcionarán zapatos y disfraces de calidad de prestamo para todos los niños\, así como faldas de práctica para las niñas. Esta clase se imparte en español e inglés. 5 años en adelante. \nIntermediate/Advanced Folklorico- Students will further develop their skills in footwork and choreography as they learn dances from Jalisco and other classic dances from Mexico’s Baile Folklorico   tradition.  Shoes and costumes will be provided on loan for all children\, as well as practice skirts for girls. This class is taught in Spanish and English. For ages 10 and up\, with at least two years of previous Folklorico classes or three years of other dance classes. \nLos estudiantes desarrollarán aún más sus habilidades en el juego de pies y la coreografía a medida que aprenden bailes de Jalisco y otros bailes clásicos de la tradición del Baile Folklórico de México. Se proporcionarán zapatos y disfraces de calidad de prestamo para todos los niños\, así como faldas de práctica para las niñas. Esta clase se imparte en español e inglés. Para mayores de 10 años\, con al menos dos años de clases de Folklórico previas o tres años de otras clases de baile. \n

SUMMARY:CVRO: 40th Anniversary Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate with us! The original Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra 40th Anniversary celebration concert had to be postponed due to the pandemic and has now been rescheduled for this November. \nThe concert will feature the premier performance of the Minnesota Suite\, a piece by Northfield composer Reinaldo Moya. Made possible by a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council\, the work was inspired by the landscape and geography of the state of Minnesota. Also featured on the concert program is the Sibelius Violin Concerto\, which will be performed by Francesca Anderegg\, Associate Professor of Violin at St. Olaf. \nThe concert will be performed twice– On Saturday\, Nov. 6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield\, and on Sunday\, Nov. 7 at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior in Faribault.
