SUMMARY:Free Lunch & Learn
DESCRIPTION:    \n \nFree Lunch & Learn Opportunity: \nEat\, relax\, and be transported by the power of storytelling! \nThe Interplay of Color & Shape\nHave you ever wondered what goes into creating a quilt? This month\, artist Carol Richards will show her quilts and talk about the inspiration behind her designs. She bases her quilts on traditional blocks and geometric forms\, deconstructed and layered\, their axes often rotated to add interest. She will bring a quilt in progress and demonstrate how she selects which fabrics to use\, and how she plans out her designs.  This Lunch & Learn will include time for questions from attendees. \nGuests are welcome to bring a bag lunch. Space is limited; please reserve your seat by emailing heather@northfieldartsguild.org or call 507-645-8877 \nMain Gallery\, Northfield Arts Guild 304 Division Street \nWednesday\, October 18   11:30-12:30

SUMMARY:Studio ARTour
DESCRIPTION:The Studio ARTour is a co-operative venture among a group of artists in the areas around Farmington\, Northfield\, and Faribault. We open our studios to the public on the third weekend in October (in 2017: Oct 20\, 21 & 22) and invite you to come out and see where and how we work. \nThis year we celebrate the 13th year we have put on the tour. It’s still getting bigger so we must be doing something right! This year features 22 studios and 38 artists. Most studios have several artists working in different media. The artists are glad to answer questions and provide information about the art. Some studios have demonstrations. \nThe range of work is amazing; weaving to welding\, glass to gemstones\, clay to carving – and paper in between. Whether you are a long-time collector\, or are just looking for something unique\, the studio tour is a perfect way to shop for fine art\, and best of all the tour is free! \nFor more information\, please visit the Studio ARTour website\, and check out the FAQs. But if we didn’t answer your question feel free to email us at studioartour@gmail.com \nThe Northfield Arts Guild is a proud sponsor and stop (Studio #20) on this studio tour!  Come by and see work by Melissa Henning\, Matt Leister\, Jessica Prill\, and Leanne Stremcha.
