SUMMARY:Women March on Washington
DESCRIPTION:Sunday’s 2:00performance will play as scheduled.  Saturday night tickets are good for Sunday’s show.  This will be the only performance.  Thanks for your support!\nThe “Women March on Washington” performance for Saturday evening has been cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions. All Saturday tickets will be honored for Sunday’s matinee performance at 2:00pm. We hope you can join us tomorrow! Stay safe and warm.\n\n\nReading of a new play by Christine Kallman \nWomen March on Washington is a full-length stage play based on the women’s marches on Washington of 1913\, 1978 and 2017\, using historical and fictional characters. Bags packed\, they head out across the country (and over decades) to the nation’s center of power. What will they bring? White gloves and a Bible? Heavy boots and the Pill? A pink hat? A hijab? The diverse travelers encounter suffragist Alice Paul\, early civil rights leader Ida Wells-Barnett\, 1970’s ERA proponents (and opponents)\, and women of today. Battling enormous obstacles\, including their own doubts and disagreements\, all arrive in Washington together\, asking: “Whose march is it?” and “What are the stakes?” \nWomen March on Washington is a new play in development and will be presented script-in-hand. The rehearsal and reading of the script are invaluable parts in the process of the script revision and development. \n  This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund. \n\nPerformances:\nSaturday\, April 14\, 2018 at 7:30 pm\nSunday\, April 15 \, 2018 at 2:00 pm \nVenue:  Northfield Arts Guild Theater\, 411 Third Street West\, Northfield.\n \nTickets: $5.00  Adult Themes \n\n\n  a LAB theater series production\n\nCast List\, Women March on Washington: \nI really want to thank each one of you who came to audition for your interest and your time. As part of the complete experience\, viewers are invited to visit the gallery exhibition both before and after the May performances for differing perspectives. \nThis project is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. \nThis project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.\n  \n2017-18 Gallery Season sponsored by:
