DESCRIPTION:The Northfield Arts Guild is accepting proposals for classes for our Summer 2016 term (June 6-August 29)! Come join us as we provide quality arts experiences and a “place to play” for people of all ages in the Northfield community. New teachers are welcome! \n\nDeadline for class proposals is 6:00 pm on Friday\, February 5\, 2016; proposals must be submitted via email to office@northfieldartsguild.org or mailed/dropped off at the NAG offices (304 Division St.\, Northfield\, MN 55057).\n\nThings to consider:\n\n\nClasses may be one-time only classes\, run the whole term\, or something in between.\nClass content may be in any art area (visual arts\, clay\, dance\, theater\, music\, literary\, etc.)\, for any age group\, and for any level (beginner\, intermediate\, or advanced).\nWhile all proposals will be considered\, the NAG is especially interested in receiving proposals for:\n\nweek-long day camp options for youth\nliterary arts and creative writing classes (all ages)\none-time “try it” type classes\n\n\nInstructors can choose a flat-hourly rate or choose an “enrollment-based” pay option (more students = more money!)\nNot all class proposals may be accepted due to scheduling\, space availability\, and other factors.\nNAG staff will review each proposal and work with teachers to create the best possible scenario for making your class successful!\nDownload the class proposal form and class policies and guidelines for more information.\nKnow someone who would make a great arts teacher? SUMMARY:Imagination Celebration
DESCRIPTION:A free\, family-friendly event that features the All-School Show in our Main Gallery\, and demonstrations and hands-on art activities in our Art Studio\, Clay Studio\, and Dance Studio. \nOur annual Imagination Celebration event is on\nSaturday\, April 2 from 10:00am-2:00pm. \nThis celebration of all things great about art is a popular\, long-running event drawing hundreds of people to the Northfield Arts Guild’s Center for the Arts.  Imagination Celebration will showcase The Big A: Northfield All-School Art Show\, an exhibition of colorful 2D and 3D artwork created by K-12 students from Northfield Area schools. Though this exhibition runs March 16 through April 9\, during Imagination Celebration\, local art teachers will be present to guide visitors through and answer questions regarding the show. \nThis exhibition features student work from Arcadia Charter School\, Area Learning Center\, Bridgewater Elementary School\, Greenvale Park Community School\, Northfield Area Homeschool Classes\, Northfield High School\, Northfield Middle School\, Prairie Creek Community School\, Sibley Elementary School\, and St. Dominic Catholic School. \nIn addition to the Main Gallery exhibition\, The Up Gallery in the Center for the Arts features a photo exhibition by local Latino youth exploring Latino life in Northfield. \nOther events at Imagination Celebration include mini-performances and workshops. From 10 am-2 pm\, visitors are invited to participate in different art-making projects in the Art Studio. Beginning at 10 am\, Northfield Youth Choir’s Junior Singers will demonstrate a rehearsal with singing and fun. An instructor from the Northfield Arts Guild’s Young People’s Theater Workshop will lead a theater game workshop at 11:00pm.  At 11:30am Kate Southwick will lead a short belly dance performance\, followed by a chance for attendees to learn some moves.  The NAG Folklorico dancers will perform at 12:30pm and they will join the Northfield Arts Guild’s Dance Theater Company to perform pieces from the “Carnival of the Animals” at 1:00pm. Attendees will also have an opportunity to sign-up for membership in the Arts Guild at a special discounted rate during the Guild’s “Member Drive.” Membership in the Arts Guild helps support community events such as Imagination Celebration\, the All-School Show\, and all of the 100+ Arts Guild arts programs and events throughout the year. \nImagination Celebration is a full day of community celebration of the arts and will take place at the Northfield Arts Guild’s Center for the Arts\, 304 Division Street South\, Northfield.
