SUMMARY:Auditions: Women March
DESCRIPTION:Production:  Women March on Washington by Christine Kallman \nDirector/Playwright: Christine Kallman \nAudition Dates and times:  Saturday\, February 10 or Sunday\,  February 11\,  4-6 p.m. \nAudition Location: Northfield Arts Guild Downtown \, 304 Division St. \nAudition Requirements:  Actors need not prepare anything in advance. You will be asked to read from the script\, by yourself or with other actors. Some of the roles call for singing (solo and/or ensemble). Bags packed\, they head out across the country (and over decades) to the nation’s center of power. What will they bring? White gloves and a Bible? Heavy boots and the Pill? A pink hat? A hijab? The diverse travelers encounter suffragist Alice Paul\, early civil rights leader Ida Wells-Barnett\, 1970’s ERA proponents (and opponents)\, and women of today. Battling enormous obstacles\, including their own doubts and disagreements\, all arrive in Washington together\, asking: “Whose march is it?” and “What are the stakes?” \nWomen March on Washington is a new play in development and will be presented script-in-hand. The rehearsal and reading of the script are invaluable parts in the process of the script revision and development. \n  This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund. \nRehearsal information:  Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Monday April 2. \nPerformance dates\, times\, location: \n\nSaturday\, April 14 Performance #1\, 7:30 p.m.  Northfield Arts Guild Theater\, 411 Third Street W.\, Northfield\nSunday\, April 15  Performance #2\, 2:00 p.m. Northfield Arts Guild Theater\, 411 Third Street W.\, Northfield\n\nCharacter descriptions and able-to-play ages:  Auditions are open to age 16 and older\, female and gender non-conforming persons. SUMMARY:Studio ARTour
DESCRIPTION:The Studio ARTour is a co-operative venture among a group of artists in the areas around Farmington\, Northfield\, and Faribault. We open our studios to the public on the third weekend in October (in 2017: Oct 20\, 21 & 22) and invite you to come out and see where and how we work. \nThis year we celebrate the 13th year we have put on the tour. It’s still getting bigger so we must be doing something right! This year features 22 studios and 38 artists. Most studios have several artists working in different media. The artists are glad to answer questions and provide information about the art. Some studios have demonstrations. \nThe range of work is amazing; weaving to welding\, glass to gemstones\, clay to carving – and paper in between. Whether you are a long-time collector\, or are just looking for something unique\, the studio tour is a perfect way to shop for fine art\, and best of all the tour is free! \nFor more information\, please visit the Studio ARTour website\, and check out the FAQs. But if we didn’t answer your question feel free to email us atstudioartour@gmail.com \nThe Northfield Arts Guild is a proud sponsor and stop (Studio #20) on this studio tour!  Come by and see work by Melissa Henning\, Matt Leister\, Jessica Prill\, and Leanne Stremcha.

SUMMARY:The Pirates of Penzance
DESCRIPTION:Tickets for today’s performance of The Pirates of Penzance (July 30) are sold out. Jump seats and any returned tickets may be available at the door on a first-come-first-serve basis. The box office at Arcadia Charter School\, 1719 Cannon Road\, opens one hour prior to performance time. Tickets may still be available for our August 4-6 performances. \n \nSet sail with this classic comedy that boasts one of the most famous patter songs in musical theatre history. On the coast of Cornwall\, a band of tenderhearted pirates celebrates the coming of age of Frederic\, who was mistakenly apprenticed to the pirates until his 21st birthday. Now\, Frederic has vowed to devote his life to the extermination of piracy – until a ludicrous leap year snag threatens to keep him apprenticed to the pirates for life! Throw in a bevy of beauties\, a brash Pirate King\, the delightfully stuffy Major-General Stanley and you’ve got an endearing evening of fun for the entire family.  Performances for this Northfield Arts Guild Theater production are held at Arcadia Charter School’s theater. \nProduction Support:\n \nMany thanks to our 2016-17 Theater Season Sponsors!\n
