DESCRIPTION:Foot in the Door\nA community exhibition\nJan 10 – Feb 17\, 2018\n    \nPainting\, Photography\, Sculpture\, Mixed Media\, Drawing & Prints all welcomed! \nCALL FOR ARTISTS:\n INTENT To encourage emerging and established artists of all ages in Northfield and surrounding communities to exhibit their artwork in a professional style show. This show is open to any age\, and any level of experience. \nEasy Entry Process! All information will be available at drop-off. Just bring in your artwork on Saturday\, January 6 between 10 am – 12 pm.\n \nImportant Show Information and Requirements \n\n All entries must be 12”x12” (x12”) or less. *May be 3-D*\n Only one entry per person.\n All entries must be ready to hang and/or install.\nArtist’s choice: artwork exhibited may be for sale or NFS\nAll entries must be dropped off on Saturday\, January 6\, 2018 between 10 am – 12 pm.\n$5 exhibition fee due at drop-off (exhibition fee waived for K- 12 grade participants)\n\nThen join us for the party!\nWe’re having an Artist Reception for adult artists on Friday\, January 12 (7 – 9 pm)\,\nand a Family Open House on Saturday\, February 17 (10 am – 12 pm) to celebrate the show. \n  \n  \nExhibition Sponsor:\n\n \n  \n2017-18 Gallery Season sponsored by:

We are pleased to announce that performing artist and design expert\, Wendy Placko will be on hand to present and answer questions. \nThe conversation will cover: \n\n\nPlanning/Audience Consideration (What do users need to do on your website?)\nBuilding a Website (What solutions exist for building my own website? DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an Artist Reception on Wednesday\, January 31 from 3:30 – 5 pm\nat Tandem Bagels.  Riki will have some additional paintings and prints on display; refreshments will be served. \n   \nA Few of My Favorite Things\nOctober 4\, 2017 – January 31\, 2018\nPaintings by Riki Kölbl Nelson\nArtist Statement\nI have been working as an artist for years\, taking and giving workshops and classes\, and exhibiting my work in personal and group shows here and abroad. \nOver the decades of making art I have explored a variety of themes and styles. For this exhibit I have  chosen a cross section: from micro close-ups of butterfly wings to memories of dresses. The unifying element is my interest in energy (élan vital\, chi) which underlies all things animate and inanimate and in good moments courses through my eye and hand. \nI have worked as artist in the schools and have given art lessons to students of all ages in my home/studio. I have taught in the Art Department and the Honor’s Program at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis\, also in the Split Rock Arts Program\, as well as in Elderhostels through St.Olaf College and in the Cannon Valley Elder Collegium. \nI have a long\, fruitful association with the Northfield Arts Guild and continue to teach a weekly art workshop at the Northfield Retirement Center\, open to its residents and to the wider community. \nRiki Kölbl Nelson \n  \nTandem Bagels  |  317 Division Street S.  |  Northfield\, MN 55057
