During the evening\, nearly 30 area artists will continually create works in a variety of scale\, complexity and subject matter. Once an artist completes a drawing\, it is then hung on the wall for viewing\, and visitors can then purchase completed works of art for just $30 each. DESCRIPTION:The Northfield Arts Guild presents…\nDawn Marie\, a benefit concert for Believet™\n\n\n \n  \n  \nAbout Dawn Marie\nFor years\, vocalist Dawn Marie has been captivating audiences with her strong vocals and energizing stage presence. After years traveling and playing Country/Rock music with many talented artists\, she has gained experience and knowledge of the music industry and is a seasoned artist on the road. She has had the pleasure of sharing \nstages with many talented national acts\, such as Diamond Rio\, Tyler Farr\, John Beland\, Little Texas and many more.​ \nA creative soul\, Dawn Marie began writing years before a life on stage was the norm. She began working with producer John Beland and his team on two country songs in 2016\, that received Midwest radio success. 2017 arrived and Dawn Marie could be found at countless spots in the Northwest and Central Wisconsin music scenes\, playing acoustically and honing her writing skills. She began writing and working on her first EP\, produced by John Richardson of Drum Farm Studio\, and featured many skilled musicians. \n​She also began working with the incredible members of the band Branded and wholeheartedly began playing rocking country music across the state. \nCurrently\, Dawn Marie is hard at work promoting her second EP – Ready\, Set\, Girl Go. Vernon has opened for the 411 Concert Series in the past and now takes the virtual stage headlining a solo evening of music special for Northfield audiences. \n\nViewers can access Katy Vernon #LiveFromHome free of charge\, but are encouraged to make a donation of any amount via a donation link on the Guild’s website. All donations are 100% tax deductible and will help sustain the Guild during these challenging times\, while also supporting our continuing online arts engagement. \n\nKaty was born and raised in London\, UK but in the past dozen or so years has established herself as one of the busiest musicians in Minnesota\, combining melodic pop/folk songwriting with her twangy Americana band. She has appeared at festivals in the Midwest and UK such as the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain\, The Grand Northern Ukulele Festival\, Taste of Minnesota\, Stars of the North\, Big Turn Fest\, and Hazelfest. Her newest record\, Suit of Hearts\, was just named as a top ten record of the year by the Star Tribune.

DESCRIPTION:A versatile singer\, instrumentalist\, songwriter\, and band leader\, Wendy Smith has composed for theater and film using her music to tell stories and connect us to one another. Her song\, Oh My Stars\, co written with novelist Lorna Landvik\, is featured in the award winning short film of the same name. DESCRIPTION:MAY 21\, 8:30 PM\nANDY FLORY\n\nAndrew Flory is a musicologist and musician from Northfield. He has played locally as a member of the Counterfactuals and leads the elusive trio Tower Soudan. When armed with a simple acoustic guitar or piano\, Flory offers a quirky but direct take on indie\, Americana and folk that lands somewhere near the intersection of Elliot Smith and John Denver. As an academic\, he is an expert on the music of Motown and the author of the top-selling history of rock textbook in the U.S.\, and is currently writing a book about Marvin Gaye. He is well-versed in Gaye’s catalog\, and has produced a number of historical reissues of material by the Motown legend. His day job is a professor post at Carleton College. SUMMARY:CVRO: 40th Anniversary Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate with us! The original Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra 40th Anniversary celebration concert had to be postponed due to the pandemic and has now been rescheduled for this November. \nThe concert will feature the premier performance of the Minnesota Suite\, a piece by Northfield composer Reinaldo Moya. Made possible by a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council\, the work was inspired by the landscape and geography of the state of Minnesota. Also featured on the concert program is the Sibelius Violin Concerto\, which will be performed by Francesca Anderegg\, Associate Professor of Violin at St. Olaf. \nThe concert will be performed twice– On Saturday\, Nov. 6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield\, and on Sunday\, Nov. 7 at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior in Faribault. Both concerts start at 3 pm. \nFor more information and to purchase tickets\, please visit www.northfieldartsguild.org. Vaccines and masks will be required at all performances.
