SUMMARY:CVRO: 40th Anniversary Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate with us! The original Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra 40th Anniversary celebration concert had to be postponed due to the pandemic and has now been rescheduled for this November. \nThe concert will feature the premier performance of the Minnesota Suite\, a piece by Northfield composer Reinaldo Moya. Made possible by a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council\, the work was inspired by the landscape and geography of the state of Minnesota. Also featured on the concert program is the Sibelius Violin Concerto\, which will be performed by Francesca Anderegg\, Associate Professor of Violin at St. Olaf. \nThe concert will be performed twice– On Saturday\, Nov. 6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield\, and on Sunday\, Nov. 7 at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior in Faribault. Both concerts start at 3 pm. \nFor more information and to purchase tickets\, please visit www.northfieldartsguild.org. Vaccines and masks will be required at all performances.

SUMMARY:The Cactus Blossoms
DESCRIPTION:You won’t find clashing sibling rivalry in the smooth tones of the Cactus Blossoms. Instead\, these brothers blend their voices in a perfect harmony that will have you swaying along. Originally from Minneapolis\, brothers Page Burkum and Jack Torrey are bringing their sound to Northfield. So grab someone special and get ready to tap your feet and clap your hands to the smooth sounds of the Cactus Blossoms.  \n  \nOpening for the Cactus Blossoms is Northfield resident\, Jon Manners. Playing since ’57\, Jon Manners recorded with Rolling Stones impresario/producer Andrew Loog Oldham in the early ’70s. Now living in Northfield\, he gigs solo in Southern and Central Minnesota. “Jon Manners’ sound is unmistakable\, combining the bounce of funk\, the passion of soul\, the thoughtfulness of jazz\, the story telling of folk and the joy of rock ‘n roll.” –Rich Larson\, KYMN Radio 95.1 \n  \nTickets at www.northfieldartsguild.org or 507-645-8877. Vaccines and masks are required.
