DESCRIPTION:  \nGreat Shot!\nAn Artwork Photographing Opportunity and Artist Mixer\n   \nNeed to have affordable\, professional photos taken of your artwork?  Here’s your chance! Please join us on Thursday\, Oct 4 from 6-8 pm for Great Shot! an Artwork Photographing Opportunity and Artist Mixer.   \nDan Iverson of Anthologie will have his professional setup at the Cow\, ready to photograph artwork (measuring up to 60 x 60”) for a super rate of $15 per final\, edited photograph – (3 photo minimum). \nSpace is limited\, interested artists must reserved their 15 or 30 minute slots by Monday\, Oct 1 by emailing heather@northfieldartsguild.org\, or by calling (507) 645-8877. Don’t have work to photograph\, but want to watch the process? That’s great!  Artists are encouraged to hang out and network with other artists while Dan is photographing their artwork.

SUMMARY:We Are the Willows: Free Music Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Come join the musicians of We Are the Willows\, a 6-piece orchestral rock band out of Minneapolis\, to discuss the creation of their album PICTURE (PORTRAIT)\, based off of 350 letters sent between lead singer/songwriter Peter Miller’s grandparents during World War II. Their correspondence inspired Peter to explore themes of family\, separation\, life\, death\, and identity in a time of national and personal crisis. The songs communicate complex ideas delivered with pop-sensible charm. This workshop is free! Participants will explore their own family histories and discuss processes\, develop creative habits and practices\, and explore songwriting and storytelling together.\n\nRead more about the band at www.wearethewillows.com.
