We are excited to present this summer education programming, but it is dependent on arriving at a moment where gatherings of various sizes are deemed safe by the CDC, Minnesota Department of Health and you. Classes taking place are also dependent on enrollment – so please register! If for any reason classes cannot take place as scheduled, we will work with you to offer an online option, reschedule the program or refund you in full.
To register for a class click on the class name or session title. Completing the class registration page will create a shopping cart so you can continue to register for as many classes as you like! If you’re a Guild member, don’t forget to register and sign in to receive your 10% class discount on other classes. FAIRY TALE MASHUP THEATER CAMP
NEW CAMP! What would happen if the likes of Robin Hood, Rapunzel, Pinocchio and Fairy Godmother all found themselves in the same story? Come find out in this fast-paced and fun camp! You’ll be a part of creating a unique script over the course of the week by taking your favorite fairy tale characters and developing a story around them. At the end of the week, you’ll have a chance to perform for your friends and family. Entering grades 1-4. Instructor: Pauline Jennings
CREATIVE COSTUME DESIGN
NEW ONLINE CAMP! EXTENDED AGES! Do you like to draw? Is fashion your passion? Look no further, because this camp is for you! Learn the basics of costume design, and let your imagination run wild as you render costumes of your own. You’ll create designs for a play, a musical, a dance piece, an opera, and more! At the end of the week, all of your designs will be compiled in an online portfolio. This class will be a combination of online instruction and individual work to be completed outside of instructional hours. Entering grades 6-12. Instructor: Hannah Mahr
THE QUARANTINE MONOLOGUES
NEW ONLINE CAMP! EXTENDED AGES! Now is your chance to tell your stay-at-home story! In this camp, you’ll get the chance to write and perform a monologue about your experience in quarantine. You’ll learn about play writing, give and receive peer feedback, attend acting coaching, and more. At the end of the week, campers’ monologues will be compiled in a final performance video. This class will be a combination of online instruction and individual work to be completed outside of instructional hours. Entering grades 6-12. Instructor: Hannah Mahr
THE ACTOR AND THE DIRECTOR THEATER CAMP
This camp will not be held this summer – watch for it to be held in the future! A play is all about revealing and interpreting the story for an audience. You’ll explore and learn ways to bring life to your character, the characters around you, the scenes and the story. What can you learn about directing by acting? What can you learn about acting by directing? Come play with plays! Entering grades 5-9. Instructor: Rachel Haider
