The Guild Theater produces four or five main stage plays each season in our 118 seat theater, and is a leading community theater in our region. Each season features a broad range of productions including comedy, drama and musical theater.

Professional directors and key technical positions are contracted for each production, drawn from our wider region, while also providing opportunities for emerging professionals to learn and practice with them. Actors audition through an open call process and are drawn from Northfield and the surrounding region, including experienced performers and newcomers. We strive to make our plays accessible to all, including ASL interpretation, affordable ticket prices and an ADA accessible auditorium.

Covid-19 Safety Statement and Protocol

Keeping our audiences, artists, staff, and community safe is vitally important and remains our top priority at the Northfield Arts Guild. As of June 21, 2022, and in light of improving conditions of the pandemic, ticketed events no longer require proof of vaccination. Masking at the Guild is recommended, but not required at this time. We reserve the right to reverse these decisions should conditions warrant.

The Guild will continue to rely on guidance from city, state and federal entities including the CDC and MDH to inform our continued response to the pandemic.

Thank you in advance for helping to keep artists, staff, and our entire community safe and well.

LAB Series
The Guild also presents up to two LAB productions per year, dedicated to experimental theater arts. LAB productions are focused on encouraging new and experienced theater artists to develop projects that mine new territory and develop their skills, and offer audiences an even more intimate theater experience. Past productions include one- and two-person shows, staged readings, as well as larger productions.

Youth Theater
In addition to other arts and theater classes, our Education Program offers two dedicated annual courses that provide area youth with exceptional education in the performing arts. More information can be found on the Youth Theater page.

See you at the theater!
